C-Fortran linking problem

Hi Everybody

I have installed FC4 recently and when I tried to compile a pckage I have for some calculations I was facxed with an error message telling me that the C-Fortran linkig option "-lg2c" does not work.
I have searched a little and could get nothing. both f77 and g77 are not installed on the new FC4 and they have added gfortran instead. I am not a programmer (yet) and I don't know what to do?
I have installed gcc-g77 and tried again to compile the package, but the same error persists.
May I ask your help in this problem?

hhegab
