Still no luck. I don't want to re-post it in Hardware, but it's not really a Fedora specific problem, I'm sure.
on the real note, I've still no luck. At boot it checks for ati-fglrx module in kernel and says ok. can someone point me in the general direction? I've dug all through my xorg stuff and it all looks good to me.
was finally able to get the driver etc loaded after reading another ATI post in this very forum, more recent than mine though.
Now I have a new problem.
Since I have the driver etc installed and working correctly (fglrxinfo reports all good, fgl_glxgears looks good too), when switch to tty* or if I logout, my screen turns all strange colors and just flacks out.
This is using a laptop, and I have tried taking my old xorg.conf file and replacing the radeon driver with the fglrx, but I still get the same thing when I logout/switch to tty*
does anyone know a solution to this?
Thanks!
EDIT: Tried vmalloc=256 at boot with no luck. thought maybe it'd do something since I've seen others saying it helped them.
