Hi folks,
Over the last several months I've been working on a project that I hope will be of use to the Fedora community.
Between the Core and Extras package sets and the many, many third-party repositories out there Fedora users have literally thousands of packages available to them. But because there is no simple way to browse through all of those repositories, searching for a particular package (or just looking for all packages or a particular type) can be a pain.
This is the problem that Fedora Tracker was written to address. Its goal is to index every apt and yum Fedora repository into a single archive that can serve as the definitive source for Fedora packages. It can also be used to generate apt/yum configuration files.
Some of you may have heard of this already because I've been soliciting feedback on lists like fedora-devel. Since then I've fixed bugs, added features and now feel that it's tracker is ready to be put to broader use. So please, check it out. Tell your friends to check it out and if you find bugs or have suggestions, reply and/or send an email to
brads@fedoratracker.org. Also, if you know a repository that hasn't been indexed (especially FC2 repos) please tell the administrator and have them submit it.
The url is
http://www.fedoratracker.org
Thanks,
--Brad
P.S. I may not be able to do much bug fixing until next weekend, but if you report a problem I will try to take care of it then.
