Add Printer.


How do I add a printer.
When i try it only gives me the option of Default which I cannot change or a network printer which it is not.

First, what kind of printer is it? Second, is it plugged into the computer?

It is a HP950C and yes it is plugged into the computer with a parallel/USB cable.
The cable is a genuine HP product.

just what do you mean by this? are you saying its a cable that has usb on one end and parallel on the other? because correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think thats available..
usb is serial not parallel so its one or the other..
parallel is easier to set up btw so go with it

Yes this cable is a HP product and it has a parallel connector to the printer and the other end has a USB connection for the computer as I do not have a parallel connector on the Shuttle.

I could not get the cable to work, but I solved the problem with a USB hub from Maplins which is also switchable.
So you can plug a device into one of the USB ports then out of the other end you feed two USB cables, one to each computer and just click a button to switch between them.
This saves having both computers on which has to be done if it was networked.
