Thunderbird selected email is not highlighted.

Stepping through the list of emails in TBird, usually each email sender-subject-date (etc) is highlighted so you know which one you are "on". Just installed Elementary OS on a new machine and the highlighting is missing. My brother say he sees some faint "lines" but I think he is smoking something. :-)
Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks

When I have a problem like that, I try various things: tilting the monitor, adjusting contrast, trying a different Thunderbird theme, and if you have some overall theme for the windowing environment, you can try adjusting that. You can also access the Help menu in Thunderbird and go over to the Thunderbird support area, to see if anyone else has that particular problem with Thunderbird on Elementary OS.

According to this item in the Thunderbird Support Forum, reachable through the Help menu on Thunderbird, someone is having a highlighting problem with EOS 6:

It really sounds like a theming problem.
AFAIR TB takes theming hints from the DE's overall (GTK) theme, so that's what I'd try changing first.

Thanks for the tip. I switched to the Adapta theme and it looks great now.
