Microfon malfunction in Chromium

Dear Elementary OS Users,
I have quite recently installed the latest Elementary (Juno 5.0?) on a Laptop (Duo Core Intel I3 M390@2,67GHz), which I had tried to upgrade from WIN 7 (Support expiration Jan 2020) to WIN 10. This effort was terminated in frustration.
I then installed Elementary 5.0 and am very much impressed by this OS. It works very well (2 d experience) and is really snappy on this old machine.
Now to my little problem. I like the Chrome Browser and installed Chromium as the next thing close to it in the App-Center.
Chromium runs well; I only have the problem that when I want to use the speech-search (microphone) it says I do not have any internet connection. Is this problem familiar? Is there a setting I could change?
I did go through the Elementary Subforum, but could not find anything relating. I appreciate any help.
Best regards
