"Xlib: No protocol specified"

I just two days ago made a clean net install of Sarge on my brother's
machine. The problem is as following:
When editing any file, for example, using vi in konsole (KDE) and
saving the file, I get this message:
Code:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
I googled for sometime and found something about xhost.
so if I do the following the problem is fixed:
Code:
xhost local:
xhost +localhost
However this fix works only for the current session and is lost as soon
as I reboot. I tried adding the previous 2 commands to "/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc" so that they run as soon as the xserver starts but it didn't have any effect.

Any help/ideas would be highly appreciated.
Thanx.

IIRC, I had the same/similar problem, but only when logged in as root. What I (think I) did do was to add the following line in /root/.bashrc (root's home dir):

Code:
cp ~my_regular_user_name/.Xauthority ~
Good luck,
