It's being logical in its way, and printing the back page right side up--after flipping the paper on short edge (because that's what I set). I need the document to print with the same orientation on both pages, but I haven't found that setting anywhere.
Duplex offset printers do duplex that way. They print one side, grip the end of the sheet, and feed that into the second stage, so the second page is printed upside down. The accessory is called a 'perfecting unit.' The idea is to cut down the number of times the paper is fed through.
If this annoys you, why not print odd & even sides like everyone else?

Umm, my printer (Brother MFC-L2710DW) can do it both ways. When you click on printing you get a popup where you can adjust parameters like mirror at the long or short side (maybe the popup has tabs, check them too). I think you are looking for the long side .
