Sourcecompiling Problem...The sdl-config script installed by SDL could not be found.

Hello to All,
I am getting the below listed error while compiling from source...

Code:

checking for ranlib... ranlib
checking for an ANSI C-conforming const... yes
checking for main in -lm... yes
checking for sdl-config... no
checking for SDL - version >= 1.1.5... no
*** The sdl-config script installed by SDL could not be found
*** If SDL was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the SDL_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to sdl-config.
configure: error: *** SDL version 1.1.5 not found!

I searched for sdl-config/SDL package in Sarge and Ubuntu but didnt find yet.Please Help me....

Ok.my fault;i did a apt-get install libsdl1.2-dev and
root@sputnik:/home/prakash# dpkg -S sdl-config
shows libsdl1.2 dev contains it..anyway Thank YOu..
