mplayer doesn't work with .srt sub

debian mplayer 0.91

#./configure --enable-freetype --with-win32lib...
#make
#make install
install mplayer successfully
#cd ~/.mplayer
#ln -s /usr/share/fonts/local/simsum.ttc subfont.ttf
#vim ~/.mplayer/config
subcp=cp936

it could mplayer english sub but wouldn't like to play .srt sub
Any advice is appreciated greatly.

It seems there is no Xvideo support for your video card available.
Run 'xvinfo' to verify its Xv support, and read Xv section of DOCS/video.html !
See 'mplayer -vo help' for other (non-xv) video out drivers. Try -vo x11

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
