lmde6 Printer not printing

My printer (Samsung Express C410W) works fine in linux mint 21.2 - but only pretends to print in lmde6 - when i click print it signals the printer, displays notification that it is printing the job, after a few seconds it displays the job is completed - but nothing is printed -

I assume you have checked the CUPS settings on both systems so see if they are same and using the same driver, and not defaulting to printing to a PDF or something?
