Kmail Duplicate Subject Error #88383

Hello,

I am trying to import my emails to pegasus. It's time to change over for good.

I keep getting multiple "Duplicate Subject Errors" as mentioned in the thread below.

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88383

In this thread is says it has been resolved.

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

does not repair this error.

I am using Debian Sarge. Does it just take a while for the upgrades to make it into the the sources?

I found a manual way to transfer the emails but would prefer automated.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

"apt-get upgrade" does not necessarily mean all the packages get upgraded. There is chance you are still running the same version of Kmail. Download the deb manually from their sites and check if the error persists.
On second thoughts, if you've already done that, then you should probably write back into the bug thread telling that the problem has not been fixed. I am not sure how I can help any more.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I posted a bugzilla report. Actually I added to the one I mentioned above. Hope that works.

My understanding os that using apt-get upgrade every package that is upgradable will be upgraded. Is that correct?

BTW: I am running Kmail 1.7.1

Thanks again,
Steve

Hello Steve,
Kmail 1.7.1 is the latest stable version and the bug (if its been taken care of) should not appear in it.
Regarding apt-get upgrade, its often seen that due to lack of some remote dependancy of a base package of KDE, its pretty probable that Apt decides not to upgrade any KDE application. Of Course this is my personal opinion, and till someone backs me up it will remain only my opinion
Yet I have had trouble to upgrade kde simply by apt-get
Anyways.. before upgrade really does anything, it spews out the list of packages "held back", "to be removed" and "to be upgraded". So you know whats finally going to be installed.

Check this out

Hope that helps

Valerie

Hi valerie_tux,

Thanks for the link.

I had a sound problem and that link told me how to fix it.

I got a response from the kmail list. The told me "This Bug is fixed in KDE 3.4Beta2 and in the current CVS (fixed at: Tue Feb 1 02:12:55 2005 UTC)!"

They asked me to test that and make sure it works. I will install it and try this weekend.

Thanks again for your help/link.
Steve
