kdesu - su not in path, console/terminal doesn't work.

I have run into a strange problem, with a Debian based distro. I can't even figure out what to search for, to find an answer.

I recently ran 'apt-get dist-upgrade', and upgraded the kernel. Everything was fine, for about a week, or two.

I'm still new to Linux, so I'm not sure how to find information of the version of Xorg, etc...
Except I do know, I'm using the 2.6.11 kernel, and Xorg.

I'm running Gnome 2.6, and KDE 3.3. I'v tried booting with GDM, and KDM, without any change.

Whenever I run KDESU, to load up an app as root, it gives me an error that su was not found in my path. GKSU gives me similair problems. Either way, I can't run any program with root priviledges, without running as root.

I can log in as Root, via KDM, or GDM.
Su works just fine, from the console.

It gets worse, in that I can't load any terminal, or console, while X is running. It just hangs, with the square box, in the top right corner. I've tried uxterm, xterm, x-terminal-emulator, and konsole.

I even tried running a plain X Session. The GUI that defaults to having four xterm consoles open, and no icons on the desktop. It loads an hangs, and whenever I move the mouse, it crashes out.

I can't change my password, while running any Window Manager.

This happens with all users, even the root.

Any pointers? Since these problems occured at the same time, I assume they are related.

I ran "echo $PATH", at the console.

Root -
/usr/games:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11

User -
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/games

------------Edit-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I forgot I had run this command, from a console.
echo en_us UTF-8 >> /etc/locale.gen

Now I canīt figure how to undo what it did... I canīt type a real apostrophe either...

Well, it was temporarily resolved...

I tried 'dkpg-configure locales', and that worked for a while...

Now the problem has resurfaced.

I completely reinstalled KDE, and now Gnome works properly, but KDE doesnīt. \

Under the Region settings, KDE is defaulting to the POSIX Locale, and refuses to accept any changes.

Everytime I log into KDE, even after rebooting, and go into the Control Center, I get this message.

Quote:
It appears you have previously changed the Regional Settings, but they have not yet taken effect. The current locale is POSIX, and previously saved locale is en_US, please select whether to edit the Current or Saved settings.
