I installed debian and everything was fine. So heres where the problem is I logged into root and gave the command "apt-get install x-window-system" and it got it and started installation but when I got to the screen where it asked me to configure it for my screen I only had the options medium and advanced simple was simply not there! so I picked medium I entered in all the information up until the part were it asks you what screen resolutions I chose what I wanted and then went to click 'OK' but I couldn't highlight 'OK' I just couldn't I tried tab I tried alt+tab I tried the arrow key I tried the number pad with num-lock off but it I could NOT highlight it!!! can some one help me or at least tell me how to get some other GUI?

Make sure you have the specs of your monitor available especially the hsync and vsync. As root do dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 . I suggest using the advanced option.
