For some reasons I want to use NTLOADER as bootloader. Now I know how to use it but with debian how can I avoid to install grub in MBR. How do I select where to install grub. I am using Sarge minimal CD for installation. Thanks for help....

hmmm, i would immagine there is an option not to install the boot loader, and use a boot floppy, but why would you want to use NTLOADER? can NTLOADER even boot a linux kernel? i know grub and lilo can be both used to bootstrap windows just fine
I want to use NTLOADER (Now I am using with Fedora) because as you know anytime I can get need of format Windows. So after that I get need to re-install grub and some times it cause problem for me. If I be able to install grub at the beginning of the root ( / ) partititon I can use NTLOADER. As I said Windows can get down anytime. Do you know how can I install grub at the beginning of root partition (in my case hda3). Thanks for help...
One more thing: I dont have a floppy, I use a laptop...

it's been quite a while since i've performed an install. but i do believe that there is an option in the bootloader config part of the installation that allows you to put it at the beginning of the drive, although i personally use lilo

one more thing... if your laptop booted of a usb jump drive, or a PCMCIA card (compact flash with adaptor) then perhaps you could use the fedora installer and build a bare minimum system just to repair grub and ditch ntloader lilo, however would be much easier in my oppinion for that
I used to do something similar, there is a howto somewhere- just google for it and you'll eventually find something. However, i had mine set up a little weirdly, whereby you'd choose linux from the ntloader menu and then you'd go to grub. I assume looking back that i had installed grub on the first sector of my hdd instead of the MBR. Anyway, the advantage was that once i went to grub id have the option of choosing windows again- it was possible to sit in a bootloader loop... which is handy for nothing but scaring computer-illiterate family members. :P
