Disable any kind of stanby-mode under Gnome

Hi

I have squeeze with Gnome installed.
My problem is the monitor goes into "black" and I'd like to disable any kind of of stanby-mode.

If I search for screensaver using Synaptic, I have these packages installed:

xdg-utils
gnome-settings-daemon

but in gnome menu cannot find any screensaver options.
Power Manager I've disabled already in the "Startup Programs".

Howto disable all screensaver and power-save options from the command line?

Your screen saver should be in System>Preferences>Screensaver. I would not disable your power management, just set the options as you want them.

Thx, but I don't have Screensaver under System ->Preferences.
Even is not hidden in gconf-editor.
Perhaps the Screensaver is not installed on my system, but cannot understand why the monitor still goes into "black".

BTW What can happen if power management is disabled?

May be "System > Preferences > Screensaver" has been removed by an update ?

But you should have the command : 'gnome-screensaver-preferences'
( Which is the same.)

I don't know what happened, it could be by updates.
gnome-screensaver-preferences doesn't work:
Code:
# gnome-screensaver-preferences
bash: gnome-screensaver-preferences: command not found
BTW If screensaver is not installed, why the monitor still goes into "black" stanby?

In Gnome you also have configuration options for the monitor also in the power-management preferences, for example to let the monitor get into standby after a certain time. I would look there.

This I've changed by Action and Display to "Never" before asked this question and it doesn't help.

Anyway:
Code:
# xset s off
# xset dpms 0 0 0
# xset -dpms s off
seems to solve this problem.
