debian installation on hp server

Hi all,
I have a hp server on which i wanna to install debian linux.but when i run debian bootable disk,it doesnt detect harddisk drive of my server.fedora is detecting well my hard disk drive. I have tried hp smartstart cd of my server but nothing is helpful.so plz help me
asap.

Post some details... What type of hard drive is? SCSI, IDE? What manufacturer? Details if you want answers...

Boot with fedora and do a lsmod... maybe you can see a module that is loaded for your harddrive.
