Debian DeMuDi.example.com
Just installed Debian DeMuDi, 1st attempt with fluxbox but got a lot of little white dots when moving mouse, so reinstalled with Gnome. Still get the dots, but
1. At initialization, a little window comes up and says
"can't locate Demudi.example.com, Gnome can't operate properly, you may be able to fix it by adding "Demudi.example.com" to /etc/hosts"
I did that with no joy, but I can use the internet so I searched for this site and it doesn't come up.
2. Can't access the CD rom even tho it was used to install the distro.
Are the white dots caused by the nVidia driver? (Nah, I don't get them when I'm using firefox. !!, only on the desktop)
What do you lose by using Gnome instead of Fluxbox?
If I can get this distro working I will be a happy boy
ps the stats below are now wrong, I have a triple, going for quad boot.
