Debian Bullseye versus EXT4 corruption kernel bug

There is a rumor floating around that a kernel patch renders EXT4 corrupt. On Debian Bullseye (11), which kernel is the corrupt one,

linux-image-6.1.0-13-amd64 ?
linux-image-6.1.0-14-amd64 ?
linux-image-6.1.0-15-amd64 ?

and how do I find the packaging notes to see for sure?

I have not upgraded kernels in awhile so I believe it is 6.1.0-14 which I don't have, the kernel bug is 6.1.64-1 with the fix being in 6.1.66-1 from what I can find.

Linux 6.1.0-13-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.55-1 (2023-09-29) x86_64 GNU/Linux
Linux 6.1.0-15-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.66-1 (2023-12-09) x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'm now on 6.1.66-1 but probably ran 6.1.64-1 for a while. That system still boots.

Linus having been kicked out of his own project and brought back with lesser authority has been hard on the kernel. Also Debian dropped the ball with both getting the word out and with getting the replacement kernel ready.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

To find the changelog, see //tracker.debian.org/linux - it's the second icon/column under "versioned links" (the tick with three lines)

To find bug reports, there's links on the above page, or one can go to //bugs.debian.org/src:linux then keyword search.

If you're on Linux 6.1.66 that's Debian 12 (bookworm; stable), not 11 (bullseye; oldstable) which is on 5.10.197, or 6.1.55 with backports.

(The latter appears to have a currently unfixed bug with symlinks on ext4.)
