deb archive


did debin team just update the package list cuz i got a warning in synaptic about needing an update and when i did it d/l like 8 packs and now i got a whole bunch of catagories that were never there b4 i only have the debian.org listed in sources.list so i dont see why it had to d/l 8 different updates security risk or just normal operation im a newbe to the whole apt thing.

If you are running the Sarge version than there are regular security updates. The last one has been for several php packages. You can monitor security updates from the front page of www.debian.org

If you run Etch or Sid (testing/unstable) there are multiple updates every day as updated or new packages become available.

not really what i was asking but thanx anyways im running sarge and i got new catagories under synaptic such as "embedded devices""cross platform" "librarys-devel nad old"
