Hello everyone I had received news that Chrunchbang is now discontinued. I am currently trying to migrate from squeeze to wheezy but I am having some issues when doing so.
So after I made changes to my sources.list file from squeeze to wheezy, here is a sample from '/etc/apt/sources.list'. :
Code:
## DEBIAN
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/ wheezy main contrib non-free
Now here is the output:
Code:
username@hostname:/etc/apt$ sudo apt-get update
[sudo] password for cbattle4654:

E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Now here is the issue. One of the lines from the output, it shows:
Code:
W: Failed to fetch ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/dists/wheezy/contrib/binary-i386/Packages.gz Unable to fetch file, server said 'Failed to open file. ' [IP: 130.89.148.12 21]
The problem is this:
'/dists/dists/'.
Why am I getting a duplicate directory
'/dists/dists/', where the path in '/etc/apt/sources.list' obviously shows the correct path and syntax where there is no duplications. A colleague of mine suggested that there the
'/dists/dists/' could already be pointing to that sub-directory
'./dists/'. Is there a simple step I am missing? May I have assistance on this so that I may get clarrification so I could make the proper adjustments, so I can make the proper migration to wheezy?
~ Thanks.
