Angry Converting from Squeeze to Wheezy Failure [issue] from Chrunchbang 10 Distro

Hello everyone I had received news that Chrunchbang is now discontinued. I am currently trying to migrate from squeeze to wheezy but I am having some issues when doing so.

So after I made changes to my sources.list file from squeeze to wheezy, here is a sample from '/etc/apt/sources.list'. :

Code:
## DEBIAN
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/ wheezy main contrib non-free
Now here is the output:
Code:
username@hostname:/etc/apt$ sudo apt-get update

[sudo] password for cbattle4654:

E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Now here is the issue. One of the lines from the output, it shows:
Code:
W: Failed to fetch ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/dists/wheezy/contrib/binary-i386/Packages.gz Unable to fetch file, server said 'Failed to open file. ' [IP: 130.89.148.12 21]
The problem is this: '/dists/dists/'.

Why am I getting a duplicate directory '/dists/dists/', where the path in '/etc/apt/sources.list' obviously shows the correct path and syntax where there is no duplications. A colleague of mine suggested that there the '/dists/dists/' could already be pointing to that sub-directory './dists/'. Is there a simple step I am missing? May I have assistance on this so that I may get clarrification so I could make the proper adjustments, so I can make the proper migration to wheezy?

~ Thanks.

Might help. Might not.

I upgraded my Panasonic CF-48 AntiX 11 install from Squeeze up to Wheezy a while back.
I'll have to fire it up and post back my sources list.

Edit: This is my upgrade to Wheezy sources.list with no mistakes

Code:
harry@bikertest3:~$ inxi -r
Repos: Active apt sources in file: /etc/apt/sources.list
           deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free
           deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-free
           deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free
           Active apt sources in file: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/dropbox.list
           deb [arch=i386,amd64] http://linux.dropbox.com/debian wheezy main

You need to remove the 'dists/' part from the main repo line in your sources.list.

Since I fired up this shelf laptop.

I went ahead and did a

Code:
# apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
<snip>
Fetched 574 kB in 22s (25.5 kB/s)
<snip>
86 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 114 MB of archives.
After this operation, 909 kB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? y
<snip>
Setting up xserver-xorg-core (2:1.12.4-6+deb7u6) ...
Processing triggers for menu ...
root@bikertest3:/home/harry# apt-get -f install
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  libmozjs24d xulrunner-24.0
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
So no errors with my sources.list.

You are also using a server a long way from Ohio.

Try;
Code:
deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free
May be faster and I know it works.

You may want to check the list of mirrors for Debian. May be one right there in Columbus.
