cifs specification in fstab

I recently updated my Debian Jessie laptop to Buster. Under Jessie I would mount my NAS in fstab using a credentials file. It fails under Buster. It appears that Buster enforces the use of a later revision of CIFS which is not supported by my NAS. How do I specify version 1 of CIFS in fstab?

Thank you
