When I insert a cdrom kde pops up the dialogue to ask what II want to do, open in window etc etc. I can go into to Konqueror and view the cdrom contents.
However if I insert a dvd, kde does nothing. I have to manually mount the dvd. When I go into Konqueror I cannot view the dvd contents, it keeps telling me the dvd disk is blank (which it is not).
If I go to the mount point /media/cdrom/ I can view the contents of the dvd.
The thing is I used to be able to auto mount dvd's and view there contents a while ago. I dont know when it broke as it has been sometime since I have tried to look at the contents of a dvd.
The following is my fstab file:
Code:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/hda3 /home ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/hda2 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 users,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd /media/cdrom1 udf,iso9660 users,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/sda1 /media/sda1 vfat noauto,users,exec,umask=000 0 0
/dev/sdb1 /media/sdb1 vfat noauto,users,exec,umask=000 0 0
As you can see my dvdrom drive is hdc and my cdrw is hdd. The system sees my dvdrom drive under the device cdrom0.
Also when I insert a cdrom the drive begins spiining and reading the data before it asks me what I wish to do. If I insert a dvdrom, the drive just sits still doing nothing. I can mount the device with mount /dev/cdrom and konqueror will let me view the device if there is a cd inserter, but if there is a dvd, it tells me it is blank. Yet I can still look at the contents vioa its mount point /media/cdrom/.
Is there somethng I am missing from my fstab that will enable me to auto mount and view the contents of the dvd in Konqueror?
Michael.
