ATA100 problems with Sarge and ASUS A7V133
Hello.
I've got a 200gb drive on the promise ata100 controller on an Asus A7V133. I installed it from the latest Sarge install CD which detected it and installed on it fine. (kernel version 2.4.27 i belive). I'm currently compiling a new kernel using 2.6.10 which i've done many times before on this exact machine but with an old disk on the standard IDE controller. I just can't get it to boot off the ATA100 controller when rebooting. I either get a "kernel panic can't find disk hde1.." or if i add a initrd.img (which i've never needed to on any other of the kernel builds i've done) i get a "kernel panic, attemped to kill init" and "can't find /lib/modules/2.6.10/modules.dep". AFAIK i've got all the modules installed that are needed for the disk, and the specific module for the interface chip.
Are there any modules i need to add to the initrd.img to get this to work. At the mo i'm very close to sticking the disk back on the old standard IDE interface, but seeing as this machine will be dealing with video i was hoping to use the extra speed.
Thanks
