Able to login only at the second attempt in Debian 11

after entring my username and password I can not login to desktop
environment immediately and the login screen apears again. Only at
the second attempt I am able to login!!

OS: Debian11-xfce

Installation date: wed feb 2 2022

More details:
here is a portion of /var/log/lightdm/lightdm.log :
Code:
[+6.64s] DEBUG: Greeter start authentication
[+6.64s] DEBUG: Session pid=812: Started with service 'lightdm', username '(null)'
[+6.67s] DEBUG: Session pid=812: Got 1 message(s) from PAM
[+6.67s] DEBUG: Prompt greeter with 1 message(s)
[+10.98s] DEBUG: Greeter start authentication for hp
[+10.98s] DEBUG: Session pid=812: Sending SIGTERM
[+10.99s] DEBUG: Session pid=815: Started with service 'lightdm', username 'hp'
[+10.99s] DEBUG: Session pid=812: Terminated with signal 15
[+10.99s] DEBUG: Session: Failed during authentication
[+10.99s] DEBUG: Seat seat0: Session stopped
[+11.05s] DEBUG: Session pid=815: Got 1 message(s) from PAM
[+11.05s] DEBUG: Prompt greeter with 1 message(s)
[+15.61s] DEBUG: Continue authentication
[+16.23s] DEBUG: Session pid=815: Authentication complete with return value 0: Success
[+16.23s] DEBUG: Authenticate result for user hp: Success
[+16.23s] DEBUG: User hp authorized
As you noticed it seems that at the first attempt the greeter doesn't send what
I type to PAM which causes an authentication failure. It sends (null) instead.

nothing usefull in /var/log/lightdm/seat0-greeter.log
nothing usefull in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
nothing usefull in /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf
no installation of any software out of debian repos.
no tinkering with any config file since installation (less than a week)

Yes! I can press ctrl+alt+F1 and login at the first attemp and startx but it doesn't
seem convenient
Potential cause:
Sure it didn't happend out of the blue. Last night I put the computer in suspend mode
(suspend to RAM) to sleep for a few minutes. since waking up (both me and computer!!!) it started behaving weird.

Try a full shutdown.
