WINE: libxv1 problems


im installing wine on my system, im running dsl from memory.

i have goten all dependencies of dependecies and on and on and on installed then i come to this one library and it wont install. heres what its saying

no help available.

errors were encountered while processing:
libxv1

now i gathered it tryed writing to that file begining at line 562, but its read only. so i tried chmod on it and it said read only also. i was root. i am slow and all but im lost. any help would be apreciated.

o yea, btw

there is good reason for wine being used on my box, im setting up diablo 2 as soon as its done

if it wernt for that game id have no use for wine, arg, damn games but if your curios as how to get d2 working pm me i have it runing on a redhat box next to this one

You might try the gnu-utils package from http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/dis...mnsmall/mydsl/ instead of using the included busybox if you're installing software in a liveCD session.

Good luck with this...Wine is a pain as it is on a standard harddrive-installed distro.
