Hats off to the Bering Distro
After thoroughly considering the price of cable/dsl routers in the market I decided to build a router myself with the old parts in the garage. After some research I stumbled across the Leaf project part of lrp. These guys have succeeded in building DamnSmallLinux Distro's. My server has 16MB's of RAM and the Bering distro loads itself from one floppy disk into a ramdrive and runs not only the 2.4 kernel with iptables but also dhcpd, a little web server for router statistics and finally the well established shorewall firewall. This is quite an awesome feat, my respect goes to Leaf and especially the Bering developers.
Cheers!
