dsl hd install no net, how do i get gnu utils installed.
I know it'll be obvious but I am new at this. I did search (beleive it or not, here and google) and can't seem to get this straight.
I did an install of dsl to my hd, and smoothed it out so it seems to be working perfect. Iwant to "upgrade to gnu utils" but can not do it within dsl bec the comp has no internet. the most i came up with is to d/l gnu-utils.dsl and put it somewhere on the dsl box. but the only place i found it seemed to say it might not work on slower systems. I have a 300mhz pII with 64 ram . I think that qualifies for slow.
((Also not sure how to get it onto the dsl computer. How do I access the cdrom drive? /cdrom is the dsl files that are mounted from my hdd. I have a usb flash drive also but if i don't know how to mount a cd I am really lost on usb.)) found it.
I know one usb device i have was not recognized, some kind of error in dmesg. the other one i have got sdb1 i think but how to access the files is out of my control.
Thanks for all the help.
