dsl 0.8.3 won't boot

hi guys, i'm starting out on using linux, dsl was recommended to me by a friend. i've downloaded the iso file, burned it as image to a CDR and am trying to boot my laptop from the CD.

i am running a old toshiba satellite 2590 CDT, Intel Celeron 333 Mhz with 128MB RAM. The problem is, when I try to boot it from the cd, it works fine until it reaches the part where it says

xauth: creating new authority file /home/dsl/.Xauthority
xauth: creating new authority file /home/dsl/.Xauthority

(and yes, the duplicated line isn't a mistake)

and the whole thing just seems to stop there.

Any suggestions on how to deal with the problem?

Thanks in advance,

when it comes to the boot prompt use 'dsl xsetup', without the quotes, to set up X on your system correctly.
