Question What updates will 6.5 get from the centos vault mirror?

While building a repo for a CentOS 6.5 build I saw on the CentOS main mirror that 6.5 is not supported because it's not the latest build and if you have to use it use the "vault" mirror

http://archive.kernel.org/centos-vault/6.5/isos/x86_64/

http://mirror.centos.org/centos/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-6

http://vault.centos.org/6.5/updates/x86_64/

I'm wondering what updates does the the vault updates repo get? Is it only security updates or anything at all?

none
zero
nada
zip

6.5 is dead and unsupported
and there will NEVER be updates in the historical archive "The Vault"

i take it you DID NOT read the "README" placeholder in the 6.5 mirrors
http://mirrors.arsc.edu/centos/6.5/readme

This directory (and version of CentOS) is deprecated. For normal users,
you should use /6/ and not /6.5/ in your path. Please see this FAQ
concerning the CentOS release scheme:

https://wiki.centos.org/FAQ/General

If you know what you are doing, and absolutely want to remain at the 6.5
level, go to http://vault.centos.org/ for packages.

Please keep in mind that 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 and 6.5 no longer gets any updates, nor
any security fix's.
if you MUST !!!! have back ports
buy RHEL
or
install ScientificLinux

SL backports SECURITY fixes to older minor versions

But

I would upgrade to the current CentOS 6.6
Code:
su -
yum --releasever=6.6 upgrade

No actually I did read that but was a bit perplexed as to why there would be an updates repo and also a base os repo. If there are no updates then what is the purpose of an updates repo? Whey not just make one "flat" repo and call it a day?

6.5 is still there because some servers might not have been updated the the VERY LAST update that 6.5 had

you would need to install those before upgrading to 6.6

Ok makes sense - I think there were also emergency updates to bash and openssl also added... not sure though. It would make sense since those are critical updates. Any idea if that is truly the case?
