afterwords, get a cup of coffee and a pat on the back for succeeding in doing so.

With most, if not all distos of linux, first thing is boot into it, login, then hook up to the internet, update the repo cache, then update the system, then while waiting for that to complete, (as I'd be in root account), is to create your users, and update sudoers file if needed, add my needed entries to the fstab file for extra partitions that did not get added to the fstab file for mounting during installation all while drinking my cup of coffee and waiting for the system to finalize updating.

MATE is a fork of Gnome 2 and can be installed in CentOS 7.
