What context?? Are you looking to load VPN as a service on this CentOS 7 system and use it as a server, or are you asking about which clients are good to use? Or are you asking about commercial VPN services to sign up for/use?

OpenVPN is pretty much the 'standard', and is well supported and documented for CentOS.

@hawkeyesc72, CentOS does not have many options for VPN connections if you are setting it up from networkmanager applet (aka GUI). This is weird as it's the only distro that I have come across which does not support openvpn protocol in it's NM applet.

However, using openvpn protocol from the CLI works like a charm. Have a look here - https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...os-4175632515/

The reason OpenVPN is not supported in NM by CentOS is that professionals use IPSec. OpenVPN is popular amongst those who find IPSec 'too hard'.

Wireguard is the new generation VPN.

And wow, TB0ne has been around here longer than me. That's unusual.
