No ifconfig-eth0 file?

I just installed centos 7 and my networking seems not to be working. I checked to see if ifconfig-eth0 wasn't present. Am I missing something?

Hi,

CentOS 7 uses NetworkManager service, and any more the old network service.
Check and ensure that NetworkManager is enabled and running.

Is this a real or virtual machine?

In addition CentOS 7 uses consistent naming so you should see something strange like enp0s3 versus eth0. what ifcfg-xxx scripts do you see in your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts directory. Look at the output of the following commands:
ip a

nmcli device status

I don't think a default CentOS installation includes ifconfig. Mine doesn't.

It does include ip, as michaelk indicated.

Code:
ip addr
will display the sort of basic information that ifconfig -a does.

See man ip for more.

I have this also:

3: wlp6s0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state DOWN qlen 1000
link/ether 18:3d:d0:19:89 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

When I did lspci -v
Kernel driver in use r8169 Realtek RTL8101

I am guessing wlp6so is actually eth0; however, it's DOWN and not giving ip address it seems
