Strange! No solutions but a few ideas. Can you open the pdf file using a PDF reader?
Can you copy the file from the share to local drive and open from there? At the time you attempt to open the file, can you check /var/log/messages? |
that looks to be a web browser issue
with MICROSOFT office excel spreed sheet as in you did not tell it what program to use Libreoffice has to CONVERT it first to ".ods " |
i have tried to open the pdf document aswell... no luck
i will try to copy it from the network to my home folder and see if it opens that way, good thinking i will also check the logs, thanks cheers, rob |
why not click the "select application" button and SET it to use libreoffice
|
ok i have done some tests and any input or thoughts would be great, -
----------------------------------------- mount -t cifs -o username=robertw, password=mypassword //molfiler03/Public /mnt/Public/ and i can see the network share and i can open up pdf/word/excel docs (they open by default in libre office) ------------------------------------------ when i open up nautilus and type in "smb://molfiler03/Public" i can see the network share but cannot open any document ------------------------------------------ when i drag the file from the share "smb://molfiler03/Public" to my home folder i can open it ------------------------------------------ so if i mount it manually it works but via gvfs it doesnt but also via gvfs if i drag to my home folder i can open it i dont understand rob |
In Nautilus can you use the left hand tool bar to navigate to Filesystem->/mnt/Public
The way I read it, you are trying to access the smb share rather than the mount point on your CentOS box. I have always used the mount point. In fact, if I try to access the share directly, nautilus can not find it! |
