Centos 7 wifi controller can't be found in network manager

Hi,
As title says, there is no wifi adapter present in network manages, hence I can't connect to wifi network.

Code:
lspci | grep Network
04:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000 [Condor Peak]
Code:
yum install wireless-tools
Code:
nmcli d |grep wifi
wlp4s0 wifi unmanaged --
after doing
Code:
ifconfig wlp4s0 up
< iwlist wlp4s0 scan > finds my home network just fine. But I am not sure what to do next. I tried wpa_supplicant but it just hangs while initializing. Some people say not to use network manager but I use the centos 7 box as a working station not server. What should I do to see the wifi device in nm gui?
