Calculate Linux Desktop 10.2 released


Release date: February 12, 2010

FUNCTION
Calculate Linux is a family of distributives, based on the Gentoo GNU/Linux project and completely compatible with it. Calculate Linux is parted in three ways, which is Calculate Directory Server (CDS), Calculate Linux Desktop (CLD/CLDX) and Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS).

FEATURES
- 100% compatability to Gentoo
- overpatching distributives interactively
- languages supported: english, spanish, portuguese, german, italian, russian, ukranian, polish and french
- support HDD and USB-HDD installation with file system: ext4, ext3, ext2, reiserfs, xfs & jfs, or USB-Flash with FAT32

What’s new in Calculate Linux 10.2

* Added support for creating Live USB system using UNetbootin.
* Support to create a binary kernel package from calculate-sources.
* New installation options - scheduler choice (--set-scheduler) and choice of UUID partition labels (--set-uuid).
* Reduced requirements for RAM when installing the system.
* In CLD Firefox changed under the style of 'Oxygen', added spellchecking dictionary.
* Add e-book reader FBReader in CLD/CLDX
* Add OpenOffice Thumbnail plugin in the CLD.
* In CDS accelerated samba server, overcome 2TB limit in share.
* New tool cl-kernel for compilation kernel.
* Add support for printers Canon.
* Add support 16-bit PCMCIA cards (modems and Serial cards), Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller.

You can unmask KDE 4.4, and install the update, you may have to remove the cld-meta.

You can change the profile calculate/desktop/CLD/x86/developer (see the output of `eselect profile list`).
eix-sync
eselect profile set 2
emerge -upD world

hi guys ,

i am newbie to this unix commands and linux os , so will this OS helps me in learning unix effectively ? i am so much impressed by the screen shots of this OS . IS this a worthy one for my situation ? . help me guys ..thanks in advance

thanks for the reply friend , can you please give me some link for this OS to download because i have tried all the link in our site but nothing is working dude ?... and also if you can please help me another of my doubt dude .Actually installing this OS into windows XP is good idea or not ? to get use to it ,because it is really hard for me to install this OS and do the things because i have completly used to windows
