Placing shortcuts on desktop

Hello all, I've just installed Bodhi on an ASUS Eee pc netbook and am amazed at the speed. I think I made a good choice!

I'm having problems trying to install shortcuts for programs on the desktop. I've looked through the documentation and haven't found the answer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This might help.

Interestingly, I tried Bodhi and was not all that impressed with Enlightenment. It worked fine and was very attractive, but it just wasn't to my taste. Choice is good.

Thanks for your reply Frank.

I tried enabling EFM but had no luck with it. I did something wrong I'm sure. Since this will be a netbook for my Wife, I want simplicity, so I am trying Linux mint. Looks more like the Linux I'm used to.

thanks again,

Curiously enough, my Bodhi install was also for my netbook. I had an online version upgrade of the previous install go bad (always a danger with an online version upgrade), had heard how pretty Bodhi was, and wanted to take a look at it. It is indeed very pretty.

I too fell back to Mint because the box has Broadcom wireless and I wanted to get it working in a hurry!

Best wishes. Happy New Year.

I know this is old
Have you tried using ibar?

windows key + space bar type in ibar. You can move shortcuts to the panel and from the panel you can right click on them and send them to desktop.

Not sure if thats what your looking for. Bodhi is actually very simple.
