Off Topic Thread - all sorts of stuff...

well since i do not know or see anyway to have a specific area on this new forum site sub agenda area - i figured maybe I would TRY to start an off topic thread so that we can psot to it a la the old forum off tpic area. Problem 1 thread that may contain a variety of topics etc. but i think at least it is a place to post other stuff relevant to the old community.

maybe Jeff or a LQ web admin can be so kind to create a sub area for bodhi that each thread could be specific instead of an amalgam of bit here and there.

thread #1: - Fall goings on. well - crazy year and wine is settling in and clearing. harvest was Ok but not as much as i am hoping. New vines have been started and some are incredible in their 2nd year and should produce next season. garden was good and bad and some nice harvests and sauces, and jams and other stuff going on. Fall garden is in - ate but is coming up. chickens were good overall this year - but a bit slow at times. planted many more trees here. used up 2 yrs worth of firewood last winter so really down and way behind in my wood being cut and stacked and cured. dog is getting old and crippled and is quite sad to se being the best general dog i have ever had in 65 yrs.. Made some great ales and ipa's and intense porters this year - all my own recipes. planted 250 garlic this Fall so will see what happens. i guess that is it. old and crippled and just cannot do as much as quickly as i used to. got a really powerful new 20" chainsaw this year. Old one pooped out. just busting it to try to get more stuff done and waiting for temps to cool. looking forward to woodstove again. hoping thanksgiving will be a good one this year across the board! Happy Fall to everyone. - leaves are starting to turn and drop.

:-))))))))))))

Thanks Norm for keeping us posted. Hope this winter will be less cold. Did someone help you mow the lane with that tractor?

i have a smaller garden tractor that i cut mostly. will hook up the mid-mower soon to run it for the year. grease it all and make sure the belts is good and stuff works. tons or weedeating here and pushmower work too. the tractor i use the bucket 99% of the time for chips, wood, and other uses. I love snow and winter - but was surprised at the amount of wood i went through last year. phew! was out at 6:16 moving more chips to my large holding p;lies area and trained a GS/mal service dog. had 2 large assam teas and have to go out a bit more and then inside for the day - too hot and humid. firewood tomorrow AM.

Thanks Charles.
