How To Put An Ap Icon On The Panel In Bodhi? [SOLVED]
I have been using Linux Mint Cinnamon for a few years and wouldn't have anything else.
I want to donate a couple old laptops so someone can get some use out of them. I tried Linux Mint Cinnamon, XFCE and Mate but those laptops are just too old and slow to work well with any version of Mint.
Bodhi Linux was suggested as a possibile OS for such old machines and, yes, it works fine. I want to get them set up so a newbie can get going with minimum effort. Bodhi has different names for everything and isn't what I'm used to.
The most pressing question I have right now is how do I put application icons on the panel (which is called something else in Bodhi but I can't determine what)?
Thanks for any assistance.

Reason: Situation solved
I appreciate the link but I have already checked the Bodhi site and found nothing. Just to be sure, I checked it again using your link. I must be missing something because I still didn't find anything there. Part of the problem is a search for any information on putting launchers on the panel nets nothing because Bodhi doesn't call it a panel and I have no idea what to call it. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
I have also done numerous searches in Google but nothing comes up that way either. Can you tell me what term to use for the strip along the bottom of the screen where launchers are placed? I just want to put a few more on it.
Hi vet... Yeah, I see what you mean. Bodhi seems to use something called modules to add things the Moksha desktop, but how to actually add something of your own choice to that part of the desktop (panel), I can't seem to find anything like that either.
I knew Jeff Hoogland (original Bodhi dev), but he retired from all things Bodhi back in 2014 and I lost track of him. The Bodhi support community (forum) link on the website brings you HERE (LQ.org/Bodhi). I tried to search there just now, but keep getting a pesky page error.
Possibly a moderator could move your post into the Bodhi area where other users would be more likely to see it and possibly assist you.

Luck with it!
To show you how far off base I am, I thought I was in the Bodhi forum since I was directed here from the Bodhi site. I didn't realize these forums were for all kinds of Linux. LOL. Yeah, maybe a moderator will correct that.
Your links gave me some direction. I guess the ibar is what they call the panel. That works for me. I'll get onto that other laptop later and see if I can get that ibar going and configured. Many thanks for that and I'll report back on my findings. Thanks.
Cool. I'd definitely be interested in knowing about any progress you make. If I run across a mod, I'll link him/her to this post and see if they will move it for you.
Found it! The way to add apps to the ibar is to go to Main Menu > Settings > Settings Panel > Apps > ibar.
Then you can highlight any application and add it to the ibar or remove it from there. Be sure to hit Apply to make the changes.
Thank you for all your help. I can make these good to go for someone.
edit: I learned a little more about this and corrected the way to do it above. I originally had Main Menu > Settings > Settings Panel > Apps > Favorite Applications but 'favorite applications' is a different thing.
