Cosmetic: Ugly box appears when moving Gadgets

Hi all

If I drop a gadget on the desktop, then try to move (drag) it to a new screen location, a very ugly black box appears and moves with the mouse cursor. The box seems to be the same size as the gadgets enclosing rectangle. The box appears for as long as the mouse button is held down, and disappears on the button's release. The gadget icon moves ok, but the black box shouldn't be there.

This seems to happen in every theme I've tried, including the default theme.

Hi Bob

What you wrote is really odd. I never faced this issue. I hope you are under BL 5. Tell me more. Maybe a short screen captured video could reveal more. Do you have enabled a compositor or sth?

Thanks, Stefan. Your reply prompted me to have trawl through all my settings, and I had ARGB turned on. Turning it off makes the ugly box go away.

Cheers
