BL5.1-32bit - Again, Synaptic and GParted won't start anymore!
I remember something about policykit-1-gnome and reinstalling esudo and something about holding esudo.
The polkit is present on my Bodhi and enabled in the start-up programs and I did reinstall esudo, already.
Still, the mentioned tools won't start.
Where did I go wrong, please and where is the thread with the guide on how to fix this, please? I cannot find it anymore.
Is this the new 32 bit 5.1 iso because it works fine on the machine I installed on this morning. Have you done all updates and sudo apt upgrade and then rebooted?
Yes, I did all the updates, including the reboot, but that was the beginning of my current problems.
I had to rebuild my tray bar content, and some start up programs, as well as the Engage bar.
In fact the system almost looked the way when I just installed it.
I installed BL 5 several weeks ago, updated to 5.1, and did the latest updates this afternoon.
Same thiing happened to me about a week or two ago when I ran updates on my legacy machines, wiped the shelves, wallpaper, theme, etc. still havent taken the time to fully recover. I haven't tested those root requiring apps yet tho...
