A few glitches with Bodhi 5
Hi,
I installed Bodhi 4.5 on a Netbook that can hardly run anything else and was pretty impressed with how lightweight it is. It was also pretty cute-looking and stable.
Yesterday I switched to Bodhi 5 on the same machine (clean install) and the story is slightly different:
1) The Software Properties package happens to be rather unstable. That is probable a Ubuntu issue and maybe that is why it is not included by default in Bodhi. First of al, when trying to find the fastest server it defaulted back to the main US server and sometimes it would stop working.
2)Also, choosing certain themes results in all elements disappearing from Moksha. No mouse pointer and no way of interacting with the computer.
3) Multiple screens are not autodetected and ARandR needs to be run each time. Of course, one could add the ARandR script to the Autostart applications (which needs to be done manually, for the configuration menu does not seem to have the option for adding custom scripts) but, what happens if the setup changes?
4) The Moksha taskbar is only present on the main screen and programs minimised on the other screen do not appear on the taskbar, they just vanish.
And that was just a couple of hours using the OS. I mean, don't get me wrong, it is still great and I am thankful but I do not think this release is up to the standards we have become used to.
Best,
Miro
