I do not follow that at all, in what they monitor, you have a means to deny them that as well, look into it so you're more savvy about it, and a server is not that expensive you're already using one. It's called Linux + apache web server. both free.

do you have Linux installed somewhere? then you have a server, yes, even on a laptop.

I just have a desktop and I am dual-booting with Windows.

what you're failing to understand is that Linux is a server OS.

Okay, so how am I supposed to keep my browser in sync when I'm booted into Windows?

you do not trust anyone other than yourself, so how can you trust me to tell you if I even knew the answer to that question. Which I do not. as I stated I do not put myself into such a state of mind.
