How do I get rid of the X in the senter of the screen?

I have proudly installed Arch, and I have gotten xorg, kdebase, xorg-input-drivers, xorg-video-drivers installed. (Typing from konqueror now)
I have configured ~/.xinitrc to use kde when I startx.
Obviously, this is a very basic system at the moment, (my fonts look like I'm on a Commodore vic-20 :P ) but I am having trouble figuring out how to get rid of the black "X" in the center of the screen. Can anyone help? What did I omit?
Thank you!

EDIT: SOLVED! Downloaded nvidia driver
pacman -Sy nvidia
then did
nvidia-xconfig
startx
Done!
