Arch LTS kernel cold boot loop after upgrade

So I updated everything the other day, which included the Arch long term support kernel, and now when I attempt to boot with that kernel & initramdisk combo, right after I pick the OS from the boot loader, the computer immediately cold boots. Has anyone else had this happen?

Today I ran pacman and discovered that LTS kernel had an update. Yay! I checked that everything was still where it should be, rebooted and ... the problem is gone. Whatever it was, it looks as if it was fixed by the update.
