Question Arch install interrupted by systemd-coredump Process 273 and Refresh Pacman Mirrorlist startup failure?

I'm completely new to Linux and so my understanding of it and Arch comes almost exclusively from the Arch Wiki. I apologize if I've somehow missed anything obvious in giving information or in how I'm working with Arch.

I'm using a DELL XPS8900 prebuilt computer wiped with ShredOS (previously held a Windows 10 installation) to install Arch Linux with a disc, but I can't get very far. Every time I try to go through the installation process, systemd-coredump[918] Process 273 runs either when I idle for too long on the live environment or get to a certain point in the idw WiFi network configuration process, and then from that point on it continually tries and fails to start.

Here's what it looks like:
So far, it's happened whenever I scan for networks or whenever I list all available networks ([iwd]#station wlan0 scan and [iwd]station wlan0 get-networks respectively.) I can't tell if it's because of a time limit or because something else is wrong. If it helps anything, my few successful scans for networks have turned up with none available, although that's a separate issue for another time.

I searched through the Wiki and several pages of both the Arch Linux forum and the LinuxQuestions Arch distro forum to no avail, no issues with systemd-coredump seem to happen this early in the process, especially not before a network connection is even established. I've been following the Arch installation guide on ArchWiki exactly as it says to, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. What is it trying to do? Is my disc potentially corrupted? Any and all help would be appreciated.

I've not ever used Arch with wireless, or any Linux distro for that matter so can't speak to that. I have installed Arch countless times with no issues though, but always on a network wired connection.

I have to ask, since you are new to Linux, what prompted you to choose Arch? Arch would be considered an "advanced" distro by most folks. Most new users would choose Ubuntu or Mint because they are preconfigured and install graphically. Not. saying there is anything wrong with your approach, just curious.

Uninstall iwd and connect without it; when that doesn't produce systemd coredumps, you have narrowed it down.

The thing with Arch: there's an assumption that you're able to manually install and maintain the system, which in turn should enable you to search for & present to us relevant troubleshooting information. Would you say this description applies to you?

Those 2 things don't go together.

You need to give a lot more info. Is this a fresh arch install .iso that you are using?
What is the outputs of
Code:
lspci -k
uname -a
ip a
Are you chrooted in using the install iso when this happens, or after you have booted the install?

If iwd is causing problems, you could also use instead
Code:
pacman -Si wpa_supplicant

I almost forgot: OP: make sure you only use the official Arch installation guide if you continue down this path. Other guides can be outdated or flat out wrong.

Teckk has it linked for you in the post above.
