Hey I just installed Arch on an older laptop (p3/500) and its happy (although a good how-to was never found... pointers?)

I eventually figured out how to install packages and how to get my KDM started, but I have (at least) the following two questions:

1. How do i use my wireless card? I installed tiacx package for the Texas Instruments ACX100/111 card that I have, but now what? The Arch package page has no info.

2. When I boot and log in (text mode) I then have to get into root (su [enter] password [enter]) before i can run "kdm" to get to a login screen. There must be a way to do this as a regular user, yes? (startx starts the xorg server but quickly spits me out to the command line again; "kdm" as a regular user tells me, "only root wants to run KDM" -- not true! )

Sorry if I am asking silly questions, but the Arch Linux Installation guide http://archlinux.org/archdoc.html doesn't answer much beyond getting Arch onto the system...

not sure about 1 but for 2 just put kdm in your /etc/rc.conf under DAEMONS=(), the comments in the file pretty much explain it all anyway.
