Pcmanfm does not show mounted devices in side panel.
Hello,
I'm working on a remaster of antiX core based on Jwm and Pcmanfm.
I have installed Gvfs, Udisks2 and Policykit-1.
The devices (HD, USB) get mounted at boot, show up in /media and I can access them with other programs such as Leafpad.
However, they do not show up in Pcmanfm side panel.
If I click on the device icon I get the error message "operation not supported".
Also, if I navigate in Pcmanfm to /media, I can access only those devices which have previously been accessed with another app..
I've been told of possible issues/conflicts between core automount system and Pcmanfm and i'd like to hear from other users who have been able to make it work properly.

It seems that pcmanfm is old school.
It doesn't support i.e. computer:/// as more "modern" filemanagers do maybe it's cause this that it doesn't show mounted devices in resources tree.
In directories tree view mine open also devices without that they were previosly accessed.
Are the checkboxes as in the picture checked under preference?
to hear from other users who have been able to make it work properly.
In a antiX 19 core install with custom script automount features probably in /usr/local/bin maybe? ? I highly doubt this. BitJam and Anti is the authority on this how ever.
I guess dmesg does not say anything about the operation not supported?

Works on Debian 10 LXDE.
Like I said, I think it's part of the underlying gvfs which pcmanfm is very capable of handling thankyouverymuch.
I find OP's description lacking in technical detail and I don't see why it shouldn't "Just Work".
Maybe something to do with the remastering, which I'm no expert in.
I finally got pcmanfm to work as I wished it to.
First, I removed antix automounting scripts.
I added dbus to .xinitrc
Then I compared dbus, polkit-1, gvfs, and udisks2 setup in /etc, /usr/bin and /usr/share on a non-systemd distro with pcmanfm working as I wanted it to (Slitaz) with my antiX setup, adding or modyfing the filed that were different.
Lo and behold, now my remaster has pcmanfm mounting all disks and USB drives at boot and shows them in the side panel.
