MX Linux never ending printing issues - Lexmark CS410

This has been my pet peeve with MX Linux for the past several years. Where Ubuntu, Mint, and possibly other popular distros are able to handle a large swath of printers, inkjet and laser alike, this has (at least for me) proven not to be the case with MX Linux.

About 4 years ago I purchased a Linux compatible Lexmark CS417 Color Laser printer. Lexmark provides Linux drivers for this printer which are fairly simple to install. One package needs to be installed via the terminal and the second (.deb) package can be easily installed via mouse click. It's all pretty straight forward.

The printing has always, no exception, been sporadic at best with MX Linux. One day I can print PDF files from within QPDF, the next day I can't. Another day I can print writer/word and calc/excel documents, then the next day I can't. Once in awhile I'll print from within a browser tab, usually Firefox, and then a week or so later when I try that again, it doesn't work.

The printer is correctly recognized by the system as a Lexmark CS410 Series which I assume is the same series that my model CS417DN belongs to?

When the printer does not print, it will print out an error page, always with the same message which of course is pretty much meaningless to me ... especially so when you consider that in between those error prints, normal printing of the same caliber also works sporadically. This error message is as stated always the same and reads as follows:

Code:
ERROR:
configurationerror
OFFENDING COMMAND:
setpagedevice
STACK:
--nostringval--
false
792
612
0
0
792
612
--nostringval--
5
As of the latest MX Linux with the latest updates per apx. one week ago, I can't get the printer to work at all anymore. I've re-installed the driver files, rebooted, shut the system down and rebooted, tried anything that I could think of but all to no avail. The print job gets accepted by the system and promptly spits out one of those error pages a few seconds later.

As frustrated as I am, I'd consider tossing the printer if it wasn't for the fact that I paid 180 Euros for a set of 4 new toners of which I still have 3 remaining. So I'm hoping that there are some printer gurus out there who can help me make my Lexmark CS417DN work again, on my MX Linux.
Thank you.

A few minutes ago I installed Master PDF and was able to print a PDF file. Comparing the printer / settings options between QPDF and Master PDF, I noticed that Master PDF has a specific page *TYPE* setting (US, A4, etc.) which QPDF is missing. So perhaps I'll print PDF files with Master PDF from now on. That still doesn't correct the issues with Printing via Web Browser Tab or LibreOffice. And LibreOffice BTW does have the correct page type enabled.

SOLVED ... For users with Non-US Paper Settings!

I was able to figure out that apparently not all Office and PDF apps for Linux / Debian / MX Linux have automatic default page settings. Some apps apparently utilize US paper size by default and other apps don't even provide the ability to alter the default size to, for example in Germany, the paper size of A4. So the printer reads a format from the computer which doesn't jive with the paper size in the printer tray, consequently sending out an error message.

I tested this theory by removing QPDF Editor and replacing it with Master PDF instead. Then I also double-checked all of the settings everywhere in my Office Package app, making sure that everywhere possible the settings are on A4 paper size. Still have to double-check individual documents though, if I end up printing something which was initially created in the US while residing there.
Now I'm able to print both PDF as well as standard office documents again.
