MX 17 Fresh Install Having Trouble Getting WiFi To Work

Hi:

I just performed a fresh installation of MX 17 on my quad core desktop and I'm having trouble getting the wifi to work.

In the MX Network Assistant I can see my wifi card listed and it says that the wifi is enabled.

Code:
02:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8192CE PCIe Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)
I used the gdebi pkg manager to find out if the firmware-realtek driver is installed and it is.

How can I get this working?

Thanks in advance:-

Don't know what I did but after a reboot the Network Manager showed me a window on the desktop that networks were available.
The Network Connections wasn't helpful either for some reason making a new wireless connection didn't help.

I looked all over the desktop and in the panel and finally I found all of the networks around me. I'm online now.

Very nice distro.- Very well done:-

Now I'm off to find the fix for no sound:-

I would suggest asking on the MX Linux dedicated forums or even the MX_Linux Facebook group. Glad you got the wifi working, mine was picked up from the first boot and I was very impressed and happy.
